Are You a “People Person”?
A Call for Parish Ushers
Along with all other lay ministries in the Church today, the role of Ushers at the Eucharistic assembly is being cast in a new light. They are not mere stagehands or money collectors but exercise a
true Liturgical Ministry of hospitality that helps to build community. Ushers can effectively serve the worshiping assembly with joy, dependability, kindness, and reverence, and thus prepare everyone
for joyous participation in the Sacrament of unity. They are people within the assembly, called to render a special service to the group but also engaged with it in divine worship.
If you are a “People Person” belonging to the Church gathered in
Christ, please consider being an Usher. We are all living stones
fashioned by the Master Builder, and Ushers are not the least of His
co-workers. Please call Cathy Mitchell, Liturgy Director at 540-338-6381
